Studio Philosophy:

The purpose of our school is to provide every student with the attitude, technique, self-discipline and experience to excel in their field of study.

Many students study the arts to have fun, enrich themselves and keep physically fit. It is our hope and objective that every student develops self-confidence, self-respect and a high self-esteem. Our goals are to provide the most professional and highest quality training on every individual level as well as to develop a love for the arts.

Our teaching philosophy stresses politeness, consideration and respect towards others as well as developing camaraderie with fellow students.

Dress Code:

All students should wear proper attire. Because learning correct dance technique depends on the alignment of the body, the teacher must be able to see the body in order to give accurate instructions.

All female dance students should wear leotards and tights. Female ballet students should wear black leotards and pink tights - NO EXCEPTIONS. Male dance students should wear jazz pants or tights and a t-shirt.

Street clothes and tennis shoes may be worn for hip-hop and drama classes. The studio does carry a variety of dance shoes available for purchase by our students. Please call the studio to make a sizing appointment.

CVPA Performing Groups:

Castro Valley Performing Arts offers several exciting performing groups. These groups perform at charities, community events, clubs, fairs and various competitions throughout California. Entrance to these performing groups is through audition only. All students in these performing groups are required to take tap, jazz, ballet, stretch & strengthen and production classes each week.
